Promoting is Fun
Get Started by Making it Fun!
Getting everyone involved in the program is easy. Just put the word out
about the value to your school and people will want to be a part of it!
Get Help From Within
Give an overview of the program to the faculty, staff and students. Let them know that the money will be spent on future school projects. Make it as real for them as you can by being as specific as possible. Encourage everyone, but especially the students, to work as a team to help raise awareness of the program. Be sure the faculty and staff can answer simple questions about the program or know where to find the answers and that everyone knows how to get people signed up on your card number registry.
Get the Kids Hyped
Use your collective creativity to get the students involved. As usual, we have found that goals, incentives and recognition are some of the best motivational tools for both your students and your faculty. Set up contests between classrooms or clubs or challenge another school to see who can enroll the most card numbers. Let the students help come up with ideas for getting the word out and enrolling card numbers at school meetings and events. Reward your top classrooms or grade levels with a party!
Ask everyone to invite their families and friends to support the school with their grocery purchases. Make sure there are reminders that the purchases are only tracked when they use their Country Mart cards. Take advantage of parents groups too! They are the best volunteers for fund-raising programs.
Share Information and Progress
Send out information regularly to parents. Keep parents and students updated on the progress of the program and remind them to keep using their Country Mart cards when they do their grocery shopping. Informed parents will be excited about improvements to their child's school.
