TURNING LEAF CAB SAUV 1.5

Cabernet Sauvignon is cultivated throughout California so that now it has become a single grape variety with several, distinctive regional tastes. Vineyards in the Central Valley, the source of the 2002 vintage, experience warm daytime temperatures and cooling influences at night. Such a pattern creates an ideal average throughout much of the growing season. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, when they aren't rushed to mature, develop a fruit-foward and highly concentrated palate on the vine, a characteristic that Turning Leaf winemakers will showcase in the finished wine once the harvest reaches the cellar. A medium body and firm but graceful tannins give the 2002 vintage satisfying fullness. The palate is rich in dark fruit black cherry and fresh berry and handsomely framed with subtle notes of spice, vanilla and toasted oak. As a result, this wine makes an excellent compliment to grilled meats, spicy pasta sauces or with hearty after dinner cheese.
