Tastes like a Boston cream filled donut!

    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 (18 oz) box yellow cake mix
    • 1 (3-4 oz) pkg instant vanilla pudding
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 1/4 cups water
    • 1 1/2 cups milk
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 (16 oz) can ready-made chocolate fudge frosting
    • 1 (8 oz) jar maraschino cherries

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Grease and flour 2 -9 inch round pans.
    3. Prepare cake mix according to box directions, except increase oil to 1/2 cup and add 1 tsp vanilla extract.
    4. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely.
    5. Make vanilla instant pudding according to pie directions on box. Set aside in refrigerator until cake is cooled.
    6. To assemble cake: Place first cake on cake plate upside down so that level side is up. Spread 3/4 of pudding on top of cake (you will not use all of it, you do not want it to squish out the sides). Put second cake upside down on top of pudding layer.
    7. Melt chocolate frosting in microwave for 30 seconds and pour over the center of cake. Spread if you have to so melted frosting drips over edge. Add 3 maraschino cherries in the middle.
    8. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
