Sticky Beak Cabernet sauvignon Napa Valley 2012. Curiously made. 'Stickybeak': Australian slang for 'nosey neighbor', or to be 'overly inquisitive'. And after twenty years living in California's wine country while importing regional benchmarks from the antipodes, our curious streak got the better of us. We made this cuvee using earthy, red fruited Cabernet from our vineyard on the valley floor complemented by a parcel of fruit from the eastern hills, adding chiseled tannins and vibrant acidity. A small parcel of merlot delivers palate weight and texture. The varietals are matured separately in French oak before final blending and bottling - unfined and unfiltered.
